UNITED WE STAND

GERA is a community-organizing model led by African refugees. GERA is a coalition of 34 subcommunities in Utah. The communities organized after seeing a need for additional support and services beyond the scope of existing resettlement agencies. The organization focuses on services that support culture needs as well as helping community members become self-sufficient early in the process of integration.

There are 13,811 new immigrant households recorded across 103 of the 111 Utah zip codes with the Department of Workforce Services office. According to the immigrant's client data provided by AAU, the average immigrant household size in Utah is 3.31. Therefore, it can be estimated that there are approximately 45,714 new immigrants in Utah.

Immigrants need basic support and help with integrating into a new world.
